WHO WE ARE
KINKIN is a child-centered woodworking and design studio rooted in creativity, care, and connection to the natural world. Through hands-on building and design, kids are invited to explore real tools, materials, and their own ideas in a space that values curiosity, collaboration, and play.
At KINKIN, making is more than a skill—it’s a way for young people to grow confidence, express themselves, and is a place where design is a language of empowerment. Inspired by the values of courage, curiosity, and care, KINKIN honors young people as capable, creative collaborators.
About the Founder
Angela Dione is a designer, woodworker, and mother with a deep commitment to child-centered design and creation. She holds a Master of Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and studied her MFA in Child Culture Design at Högskolan för Design och Konsthantverk (HDK-Valand) in Gothenburg, Sweden. Angela also trained in Fine Woodworking at the School of Fine Woodworking in Nelson, BC. Combining her academic background and creative pathway, she founded KINKIN Studio.
Her work is grounded in the belief that young people are creative collaborators and that hands-on making is a powerful way to foster connection, empowerment, and self-expression. KINKIN is her response to this calling—a studio shaped by years of experience in design, woodworking, and working with young people in both local and international communities.
